Jamaicans Destined ONLY to be cheap worker bees,Never wealthy entrepreneurs?

Posted on | August 12, 2010 | 1 Comment

Does the fact that for the most part Jamaicans are laid back, love a good lime make us destined ONLY to be cheap worker bees, never wealth builders and successful entrepreneurs? Or, is it our culture of hustling vs one of building and passing on knowledge and wealth in the family structure ? Is it that most lack financial education from being misinformed by marketing messages and miseducated by family, formal schools and their employers?

Is it because most have grown up in a culture of only being consumers and seldom being creators, owners ? Is it a lack of trust of their own people yet having a slavish and blind belief in the colours brown, white and preferably foreign?

Do Jamaicans, in fact Caribbean people, have the luxury of those excuses anymore… given the fast growing global list of role models, trail makers and the fact that they have more than any other time in history – have a greater access to information that can easily neutralise all that misinformation and reverse those things that seemingly have held us back?

Word: Smart people learn from their own mistakes. Wise people, learn from the mistakes of others.
