Epic Jostling for position in the marketing industry and for clients?

As a digital marketing strategist who runs a 3 year old boutique digital marketing agency ConnectiMass, in the past year, I’ve gotten caught up inwhat’s becoming an epic struggle that’s bubbling beneath the surface of the marketing industry. It’s local, regional and global.
Some digital marketing agencies are starting to offer more traditional services. Traditional agencies are adding digital offerings . Ad agencies are offering PR and digital marketing. PR firms are selling digital and design services. Etc. Etc. And every one is staking a claim to the new ground of social media. This jostling for position in the industry and in front of clients is staggering and has gotten abrasive in it’s fierce competition at times. It’s been so interesting to see and in some cases be the focus of some of the tactics, the politics, the in your faceness of some of these players. At times I get frustrated, most times I smile, always I remained focused.
But, just a word to the client who’s hiring, just remember, that it’s you who has to manage the madness. And no matter if you have multiple service providers that you employ to implement a variety of tactics, to be effective they all must serve a singular strategy, always, always.
