It is not a surprise that we all know that JAMAICA is synonymous with #Ganja/Marijuana/Cannabis globally and it presents a trailer-load of business opportunities for locals, Caribbean people in the Region and Diaspora and Internationals as well.
I am asking Jamaican entrepreneurs especially to seek, find and launch businesses that not just touch the plan,t but also support the industry and then, approach it like it’s a marathon. Be in it to win it for the long haul.
Trust me when I say that the Global Currency that Jamaica has in Cannabis needs no additives or preservatives…so seek to be transparent, authentic, certified, passionate in delivering the best product and experience to consumers local, regional and international. You don’t need to do dumb Made in China type fuckery that makes you make a quick buck now but screw you from making millions more later.
Be true to your quality product ingredients, deliver excellence with your experiences, listen to your customers, only take on business partners who share your values. Trust me when I say smart and values-driven money/investments are the best vs sharkish and will screw you at the first chance they get vs the let me help you little people down there on the islands type people because you don’t know what you are doing type of people.
Also, watch out for those businesses lobbying government officials ( yes it has been happening since 2014)…this happens everywhere…but when I say watch…I mean watch yes for unfair practices, undue pressure that makes politicians make certain decisions that benefit their network and constituencies( again this happens everywhere)…but also always as it indicates where rich people want to invest their money. So, if you are nimble and smart you can use that information to your benefit. Outside of that, it also pays to zig where others zag, there are myriad of white spaces in the industry for those who care to really look.
